You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty by Akwaeke Emezi (Afterlight May 2022 Exclusive box)

As an artist is easing back into the dating scene after losing her husband five years ago, she’s given the chance of a lifetime – an all expenses paid trip to a tropical island, with a guy who seems perfect on paper, and will introduce her to a curator who wants to kick-start her career. However, once they arrive there’s someone else on her mind: the one person she really shouldn’t be falling in love with. Can she overcome her grief without forgetting her past, and find a way to be with the one she’s falling for?

We loved this gorgeous story about finding yourself after loss, and the obstacles of chasing a second chance at love.
